I am a senior homeowner who purchased a new furnace in 2022 through an Oakland County–sponsored program. On January 20, 2026, during 20-degree weather, the furnace failed for the fifth time this year, leaving me without heat for 13 days. The original contractor and subcontractor did not respond. I came home from church on a Sunday to find a cool house and realized my furnace wasn’t working. I called Elite Degree and Peter came over within a few hours and was able to get me going temporarily and explained the problem and costs involved. I made a decision to replace the furnace and the crew came out Monday to start the replacement process. Peter did great at trying to schedule around my work schedule due to a very important week at work that I couldn’t miss. I woke up to a 40 degree house end of January. Furnace fan would run for a couple minutes with no heat then shut off. I called Elite Degrees and Peter was here within the hour. It took him all of 30 seconds to diagnose the problem as a seized inducer. It took less than 30 minutes to remove the assembly and lubricate it as a stop-gap while I wait for the replacement to arrive. It's a few days later now and still working. Price was totally reasonable, actually a little lower than I expected. Overall turned what I thought was a going to be a disaster into a minor inconvenience.
